THE RADISSON BLU HOTEL DAKAR

Africa | Hotels & Resorts

The Radisson Blu Hotel Dakar Sea Place is located on the Fann Corniche on the Cape Verde Peninsula. The building was designed by the SAOTA studio following the contemporary Senegalese style. The hotel includes 180 suites, different terraces and pool areas, two restaurants, various bars and meeting and conference rooms, a spa and fitness center, a movie theater and a bowling alley, as well as various shops within the hotel itself. The building, oriented to take full advantage of the views over the Atlantic Ocean, has a theatrical lobby and a spiral staircase that connects the restaurant and pool levels with the room area. The different restaurants and terraces were conceived as a box from which to watch the sunset over the ocean.

The interior design was carried out by ANTONI ASSOCIATES, merging elements of contemporary minimalist architecture with contemporary African elements full of character. The space combines natural materials such as rock, stone, wood and sandstone that contrast with African motifs, finishes and forms filled with earth color palettes. The space plays with scales, textures and shapes, but creating a blank canvas that is completed with pieces of African art and traditional local objects. The VINT chair with arms and the tables from the SIT collection were chosen for the restaurant area and terrace, in a palette of white structures, light gray upholstery and natural wood covers. The SIT, NAK and DATS collections were also used to decorate other areas of the hotel, such as the terraces and lounge areas, and the CLUB deckchair and low table occupy the pool areas and some of the terraces.
